...This is a shoot-from-the-hip wine bottle study that I came up with while brainstorming. I'd done a few little doodles and nothing really struck me, so I just started painting.
... The original scheme was to do a photo shoot, but the difference between wine labels, as described in the story, wasn't easily represented in a simple photo comparison.
... This project turned out to be a study of wine bottles and a study of a Degas head.
... It worked well enough, and I had good fun.
