Sky-high Anxieties

...I hate flying. Hate hate hate. You can throw out the lousy seats, the waiting in line, the engines falling off the wings – you can even throw out the terrorists – and I STILL would rather ride a tricycle without a seat than fly in an airplane.
...My whole body becomes one great big white knuckle and the grinding of my teeth drowns out the sound of the jets. Puddles form beneath where I'm resting my palms and... well, I'll stop there.
...So this was for a story that ran on the 11th of Sept., 2006; it was about dealing with many of the fears of flying that have risen to prominence in this new century.
...My only question is, what took everyone so long?
...All the faces were drawn in pencil, scanned and "inked" in P-shop. I think I drew the hands and seats in photoshop as well the coloring and textures.
...Of special note is this is my last illustration done for ANG Newspapers. I'm moving over to the Contra Costa Times to work and play in a new graphics department and I'm really looking forward to it.
