Chuck Todd
Captain of the Contra Costa Times Graphics Squad. He is artist and art director. Paints a mean comic!
James Gayles
Friend and artiste-in-residence for the Pleasanton MediaNews graphics department. Ace painter, designer, etc. Amazing work. Everybody stops by to see what's cooking when James is working.
Josh Ruthnick and Josh again
Josh has fled from the newsgraphics world and is seeking a career in 3-D animation or something like that. Who knows what he'll end up doing. I have a feeling he'll make out alright.
Steve Lait
Editorial cartoonist for MediaNews, but perhaps you've seen his work in Time, or USA Today. . . he's really getting around these days. He's got funny stuff and the UGLIEST caricature of W. in the world.
Shan Carter
I used to sit next to this guy at work. Now he works for the N.Y. Times. He's not allowed to talk to me anymore.
Anjella Schick
Former graphic artist for MediaNews. Great work.

Craig Mullins
Probably my favorite artist right now-- breathtaking. I really didn't have a handle on what digital art could be until I discovered his work.
Sparth
Heckuva painter. One of the sites I go to on an almost daily basis hoping to see something new.
Alex Toth
The "Page of the Day" section is a terrific opportunity to read masterful comics that are difficult to get ahold of. Toth was one of the grand masters of comic art and it's too bad that he's not as widely recognized outside of the comic artist fraternity; most fans don't have a clue what they missed.
John Byrne!
Here are the galleries where Byrne posts scans of his more recent books. Some are gigantic. A terrific place to go and study strong comics work. One of my favorite cartoonists!
John Clapp
A friend of mine with whom I took a couple of classes YEARS ago in junior college, when we bother were wet behind the ears. Now, our ears have other problems, like old eardrums and white hairs growing out of there. He makes terrific pictures, though!
